Wildfires have continued to burn throughout August and September across Argentina's Cordoba province. At least 55 square miles or grassland have been destroyed as strong winds and no rainfall fuelled the fires spread.
The northern areas of Punilla and IschilĂn have been badly affected, with the government deploying aircraft to drop water and assist firefighters on the ground.
Evacuations have taken place to preserve life across the Cordoba region; reports suggest there are no fatalities or injuries. The flames damaged houses, power lines and approached highways causing major disruption.
