Typhoon Bavi was a powerful storm that moved across the Yellow sea towards parts of South and North Korea.
Heavy rain and strong winds impacted South Korea and western Japan. Bavi was forecast to continue strengthening and eventually passed the west coast of Jeju Island before it tracked further across the Yellow sea toward the North Korean peninsula with wind speeds building to 100-130mph.
The Korea Meteorological Administration monitored the situation citing there were many factors that affected the strength and direction of the storm.
